US urges against travel to Cuba

Senior US officers say the United States is pulling roughly 60 per cent of its employees out of Cuba and warning American travellers not to go to due to “specific attacks” which have harmed US diplomats.

The officers say the US is ordering all nonessential employees within the embassy in Havana to go away, together with all members of the family. Only “emergency personnel” will stay.

The US can also be warning American residents they may very well be harmed in the event that they travel to Cuba. A State Department travel warning will notice that assaults on diplomats have occurred in inns.

The officers say the US is halting visa processing in Cuba indefinitely. They say the steps will stay till Cuba can guarantee the US its diplomats are protected.
