THREE folks have been hit by a van that careered by crowds in New York this night.
They have been caught when the motor mounted the kerb close to Madison Square Garden in central Manhattan at 5.30pm.
It hit because the junction at West 31st Street and Seventh Avenue was full of pedestrians through the night rush hour, stories The Sun.
Witnesses described listening to panicked screams because it ploughed alongside the pavement earlier than dashing off.
One stated: “Literally just finished crossing the street in front of Penn Station when a car slammed into people. Heard the hit, screams and ran for it”.
Another stated: “I noticed it occur. The van rammed by the intersection by a crowd.
“I noticed three folks get hit. I didn’t see the van cease.”
Footage posted on Twitter reveals injured folks mendacity throughout the highway as paramedics rush to assist them.
Police have the driving force in custody and expenses are pending. And NYPD spokesman stated that the driving force remained on the scene.
A purple van will be seen stationary about 50 yards additional down the highway.
Two girls and one man have been taken to the close by Bellevue Hospital with minor accidents, police stated.
NYPD sources instructed NBC New York that the crash was the results of a tragic accident — as the ground mat bought caught beneath the brake.
The driver was seen being arrested as officers sealed off the highway.
