Jim Mosher was disturbed when the Newport Beach City Council voted to maneuver a city-owned bronze statue of former President Reagan from Bonita Canyon Sports Park to the high-profile sculpture backyard in Civic Center Park exterior City Hall.
The statue’s transfer was an impromptu choice at an April council assembly. It wasn’t on the agenda and was supplied after public remark had closed on a deliberate merchandise, the following section of the sculpture backyard.
Mosher’s misery continued this week when he realized that the Reagan likeness had been moved earlier this month. He stated metropolis officers had assured him the transfer can be achieved with public enter, which he argued it was not.
Mosher isn’t the one Newport resident upset by the statue’s presence in Civic Center Park. After the vote to roll Reagan into the following spherical of park sculptures, different commenters spoke in opposition to the choice, disapproving of what they referred to as a partisan artwork exhibit.
