The arson squad is investigating what officers are describing as a suspicious fireplace in Côte-des-Neiges in a single day.
At round three a.m. on Sunday, police obtained a 911 name reporting a fireplace behind a combined-use constructing on the intersection of Côte-des-Neiges Road and Saint-Kevin Avenue.
According to police, the fireplace began in some trash or recycling bins situated in the back of the three-storey construction, which homes two eating places and 40 residences.
No arrests have been made, however witnesses reported seeing a suspect flee the scene.
No one was injured in the fireplace however the constructing was evacuated and was closely broken.
Côte-des-Neiges Road was closed for a number of hours as firefighters tackled the blaze.
