A grass fire broke out close to The Lakes subdivision in Lake Country north of Kelowna Wednesday evening at 9 p.m., prompting a response from a number of neighborhood fire halls.
It was burning in a gully between Cliffstone Drive and Highway 97 beneath the neighbourhood.
Lake Country Fire Chief Steve Windsor mentioned the flames unfold to an space of about 100 metres X 30 metres earlier than they the fire was doused.
Windsor mentioned six vans and a crew from the B.C. Wildfire Service attended to the blaze.
